Some considerations when selecting signal Structures
Platform widths are typically 912mm, 1262mm and 1500mm. The 912mm is preferred with a 1262mm and a 1500mm used where an offset signal relative to the post is required.
For a single tower of signals consisting of a multi-aspect and subsidiary with a support frame alongside another subsidiary signal without a support frame, we would recommend the installation of a 1500mm platform for ease of maintenance. However, should site conditions dictate, a 1262mm can be supplied.
To allow for the safe maintenance of signal lenses, a 1500mm platform should be used for subsidiary signals requiring a mounting frame at the side of the main tower. |
