Product Description This Völkel 'Tap, Die & Drill Set' is of the highest quality, manufactured from High Speed Steel, and covers the most popular metric thread sizes M3-M12. It is a complete hand threading solution with all the required tools included. The actual sizes that this set covers are: 3mm x 0.5, 4mm x 0.7, 5mm x 0.8, 6mm x 1.0, 8mm x 1.25, 10mm x 1.5 and 12mm x 1.75. These are metric course (standard) thread sizes. This set is for making right handed threads. This Völkel Tap, Die and Drill Set includes a High Speed Steel (HSS) tap set of 3 and 1 circular die per size listed above. In addition, 7 tapping size drills (HSS) are supplied (1 for each size of tap set). Also included is x2 adjustable bar type tap wrenches and x5 diestocks to drive the taps and dies in the set by hand. In addition, a ratchet tap wrench is supplied (for use with 3mm to 10mm taps), as well as a handy metric pitch gauge and screwdriver. The tap sets of 3 are manufactured from high quality High Speed Steel (HSS), conform to DIN 352 and the threads have been precision ground. Each set of 3 taps comprises of x1 Taper tap (also known as the 'first' tap), x1 Second tap (also known as the 'intermediate' tap) and x1 Plug tap (also known as the 'bottoming' or 'third' tap). These DIN taps are full form which means that they will cut full threads. The High Speed Steel circular dies are manufactured to DIN 223 and are supplied solid. The tapping size drills are also manufactured from High Speed Steel (HSS). The adjustable bar type tap wrenches fit all the taps in the set. They have steel handles and zinc diecast bodies. The 5 different diestocks fit all the dies included in the set. They are manufactured from zinc diecast. Supplied in a strong metal index case with lift-up lid. In addition, the metal case is supplied in an outer Völkel carton for added protection.
